Tudor Prince Date Ref. 74000 Linen Dial from 2000 w/papers
The Prince Date has long been one of the foundations of the Tudor catalogue, bringing the robustness of an Oyster-style watch and everyday elegance to a compact 34mm case. The reference 74000 arrived in the 1980s as an evolution of the Oysterdate 7996.
Produced in 2000, this example is a later version of the reference, no longer built on the Rolex Oyster case found on earlier examples, and is preserved in like-new condition. The 34mm stainless steel case carries a linen dial, finished with a fine woven texture that gives it a depth plain dials lack, with a date window at three o’clock. The original burgundy sticker is still in place on the caseback, a detail that confirms how little the watch has been worn.
At its core is the automatic calibre ETA 2824-2, with central seconds and date, which runs perfectly.
Accompanied by its original papers, this Prince Date is an affordable way to own a Tudor of this generation, and one that is rarely found in like-new condition.
