Omega Automatic Vintage Ref. 2832-1 SC Circa 1954
Produced in 1954, this Omega Automatic belongs to a quieter chapter of the brand’s history, one that ran alongside the more celebrated Seamaster and Constellation lines of the same decade. Stripped of any collection name on the dial, it represents Omega’s purest expression of 1950s design, elegance distilled to its essential form.
The 33.5mm stainless steel case features faceted lugs, steel indexes and hands, and a distinctive six-sided hexagonal crown, signed Omega. The applied “12” and Omega logo are rendered in steel, a cool detail that adds a subtle dimension to the silver dial. The dial and hands retain their original radium, aged gracefully with time.
At its core is the automatic calibre 471, one of Omega’s very first full-rotor automatic movements, a genuine technical milestone for the brand and a workhorse still respected by collectors today. The caseback bears the period-correct “Waterproof” inscription.
A rare survivor of Omega’s golden age, this Automatic combines a striking mid-century design with truly original condition, a piece seldom found on today’s market.
