Patek Philippe Calatrava “Clous de Paris” Quartz Ref. 3744 circa 1980 B&P + Invoice
Acquired in 1980 at the Patek Philippe boutique in Geneva by its first owner, this Calatrava ref. 3744 illustrates an important period when the company was exploring the first generations of quartz movements.
Its ultra-thin 33 mm case in 18-carat white gold is entirely decorated with the ‘Clous de Paris’ pattern, which appears on the bezel, integrated bracelet and clasp. The dial with Roman numerals, in imitation enamel, has cracks.
It is powered by the Patek Philippe E27 quartz calibre, one of the first movements developed by the manufacture after the Beta 21 and the E15 calibre.
Preserved by its original owner, this piece comes with its box, papers and original purchase invoice. Its white gold bracelet can be adjusted to fit a wrist measuring approximately 16.5 to 17 cm.
A rare and elegant Calatrava, this watch bears witness to a period when craftsmanship and technical innovation came together at Patek Philippe.
