Universal Genève White Shadow Ref. 866.101/5 GF Bracelet Circa 1966
First presented at the 1966 Basel Fair, the White Shadow was Universal Genève’s answer to the slim automatic. Its micro-rotor, set within the movement rather than above it, keeps the watch remarkably thin on the wrist.
This example has a 35mm cushion-shaped steel case and a signed crown. The blue sunburst dial carries the “fat U” logo at 12 o’clock and applied indexes. It shifts from bright blue to a deeper tone with the light and remains well preserved. The watch comes on its signed UG steel bracelet by Gay Frères, a factory bracelet that few examples on the market still retain.
Inside is the micro-rotor calibre UG 1-66, recently serviced by our watchmaker.
A slim, well-kept White Shadow, on the bracelet collectors look for.
