Cartier Tank Must Vermeil LM Ref. 6 81006 From 1986 with papers
Introduced as part of Cartier’s Must de Cartier collection, the Tank Must made the timeless design of the Tank accessible to a wider audience, while preserving the aesthetic codes that had defined the model for decades.
Produced in 1986, this Large Modèle (LM) example features a 30 x 23.5mm case in silver, plated with gold (vermeil), paired with the signature blue sapphire cabochon crown. The dial is signed with a discreet “Cartier” set within the numeral VII, a subtle authentication detail found on genuine period pieces, complemented by blued steel hands. The crystal shows some fine surface marks, and the dial presents a very fine, barely visible crack, both consistent with the watch’s age.
The watch retains its original Cartier buckle and comes with its original papers dating to 1986, a valuable piece of documented provenance for a watch of this era.
At its core is a quartz movement, in keeping with the Must de Cartier line’s focus on reliability and everyday wearability.
Combining iconic design, vermeil craftsmanship and original documentation, this Tank Must LM remains a timeless expression of Cartier’s vision of elegance.
