Omega Constellation “Pie Pan” Ref. 167.005 1964 w/Original Papers

Launched in 1952, the Constellation quickly became Omega’s flagship line, built to showcase the brand’s finest chronometer-grade movements. This reference 167.005, distinguished by its faceted “Pie Pan” dial and angular “dog leg” lugs, remains one of the most recognizable expressions of that ambition.

Produced in 1964 and sold in Japan in 1967, this example retains its original papers, a rare and valuable piece of provenance for a watch of this era. The original silver dial is signed with an applied Omega logo and star at 6 o’clock, paired with its original hands. Housed in a 34mm stainless steel case, it is powered by the automatic calibre 551, part of a landmark run of 100,000 Omega movements that met chronometer standards twice as demanding as the industry norm, a genuine engineering achievement for its time.

The caseback bears Omega’s Observatory medallion, framed by eight stars representing the brand’s chronometry records, a quiet but meaningful signature of the precision inside.
